Speaking under the national theme “Investing in Ghana’s Future through Healthy, Skilled and Empowered Young People,” she highlighted Ghana’s youthful population as a major national asset, noting that the country’s estimated 34.4 million population includes nearly 12 million young people aged 15–35 years. She emphasized that Ghana’s demographic dividend will only be achieved through deliberate investments in quality education, healthcare, skills development, entrepreneurship, decent employment opportunities, innovation and meaningful youth participation. The Ag. ED also acknowledged challenges confronting young people, including unemployment, underemployment, limited access to skills training, adolescent pregnancy and barriers to sexual and reproductive health services. She called for stronger partnerships among government, development partners, private sector, civil society, academia and young people to create opportunities that enable every young Ghanaian to reach their full potential.
